Another bathroom shot

And it's a hiney shot to boot!

I envisioned this shot a few days ago. There are still some things about the composition that I would change, so maybe we'll reshoot. Today as I was getting Grace dressed, I lured her little bare-bottomed toddler self into the bathroom where I had already planted the camera. The luring part was not hard. Grace loves to play in the sink with the water running. She washes all her toys and likes any kind of pouring and filling. There are toys and bottles and cups in the basin of every sink in the house.

Charlotte in the tub

Some shots in the new bathroom. It is wonderful beyond words. Truly. Derek did an amazing job on everything. I have some prints to go up on the wall yet, and some fabric for the window and a shower curtain (you can't see the shower in these images, though). Those and the usual laundry and toys strewn everywhere make it look a lot less sterile than it appears here.

All techincally flawed

but still awfully cute.

Louisa (overexposed)

My sheepish confession is that I cloned out a few little tears on her cheeks for this one. I think they still show a little in her eyes. She got a little upset when Derek left :(

Charlotte (so overexposed black and white is the only chance of salvaging it)

She posed again for this one for me. Well, not posed really but she took a little direction and peeked out the way I asked her to. Her cheeks are red and chapped from going sledding with Derek, Cayden and Larry, which she absolutely loved.

Grace (out of focus)

I love the way she is peeking out from under her bangs. We see her this way alot. I think they are almost long enough that they will start to stay out of her face naturally. She does tolerate me putting it in a ponytail occaisonally.

Some from home

Charlotte actually posed for me for this shot. I asked her to go stand and look out the window so I could take a picture - and she did!. I had trouble focusing and I had to ask her to keep going back and looking again. She surprisingly tolerated it for more than the usual few seconds. I am glad she did, because I really like this one.

Finally a shot of Grace smiling without either food in her mouth or the binky. I will confess she is actually eating here, but I waited patiently to shoot in between pretzels. The light was very low and these are pretty noisy, but I am printing them anyway.

This is one that I would usually skip, becuase that 'just missed real eye contact' look generally bugs me. But, it is a nice shot of her and a genuine Charlotte giggle and those are hard to catch, so I kept it.

A few random vacation pictures

This is Grace playing with Grandma and Grandpa's little cat. Grace loved the cat. However, she got pretty upset with kitty just after this was taken, because the cat started chasing and playing with the beads (batting at them like cats do). That would have been a funny picture, but you'll have to use your imagination.

Here is Grace at Grandma's house in Naples. She really is getting taller and skinnier. She has always been such a chubby, round little thing it is hard to imagine. She still has that big toddler belly, though.

More from Florida

One of Grace. I wanted to take a picture of her hair in pigtails. Well, you can see one pigtail here, anyway. :)

Some from the beach.

I like the way these two go together.

My favorite of the two, all by itself.

One from Florida

We had a great vacation in Florida and everything went very smoothly for the trip home. I have only just started looking at the pictures from the trip. I didn't have my camera for the first week (Derek brought it down with him) and I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked, but there are a few keepers. Here is just one of Charlotte on the beach. I think she looks old in this shot. Well, she is going to be 3 in a few weeks.

Grace

whose Indian (Native American?) name should have been Happiest While Eating.
