Haircut

Charlotte got her hair cut this morning. She kind of cut off all the curls, so it will be intereting to see if they come back.

Charlotte had our whole day planned early this morning. She laid it all out for me. First, we were going to the haircut store. She would get her hair cut then play with the toys. Next, we would go to the toy store. We would buy Play-Doh. And play with the toys. Then, we would go to the "restaurant with the playground", (also known as McDonalds). There, we would have lunch. And play on the playground. Got it? Got it.

After the haircut, Grace seemed to be getting hungry and we were just up the street from McDonalds, so I suggested we could go eat first and then go to the toy store on the way home. Er, no. That was not the plan. Apparently I didn't understand the plan fully. She patiently ran it by me again.

She's just a wee bit bossy these days.

Here is the new haircut. I think it's kicky :)

Outside

Two of Grace playing with the big umbrella that the kids found in the garage. It really isn't the best toy (as in - hey kid, you'll poke your eye out), but they love it. Note the spare binky in her right hand in the bottom shot. She likes to carry an extra one around, just in case.

525,600 minutes

How do you measure a year in the life?

How about 1,624 diapers, 784 episodes of Dora, 127 frozen pizzas, 21 binkies, 4 outgrown pairs of shoes and 1 haircut (yes, one - in her whole, entire life). Plus, more baby hugs than I can count. Grace is the huggiest kid ever. She hugs with her arms and her legs and I especially love it when she reaches up and pats me on the back.

Happy birthday, baby girl. How did I get so incredibly lucky to be your mama?

Gracie's 2 year pictures. Man, did she ever make me work hard for these!

More of Charlotte

She kind of let me take some pictures my way today, too. The first is just sheer luck. She was moving around so fast, I was just glad to get her in focus. I liked the composition, though, and those little ringlet curls. She is sweeping the driveway here. Picture her arms out holding a broom sweeping behind her and you'll get the body posture.

These two she actually sort of took direction and posed for me. I am glad she did, too, becuase these are new favorites of mine.

She can ride

And she's darn quick, too!
(click on the thumbnails - the triptych is better full size)

The little one is not to be outdone, as usual.

One of Grace

Isn't she looking older all the time? Where'd my baby go?

More to edit. Hopefully I will post more this weekend.
