Another try at the napping shot

Charlotte has given up her bed and now sleeps on some pillows on the floor. They are very good in their new room, I think. They will get up after we put them down for the night and play with their toys, but they generally find their way back into bed by themselves. The other night I heard all kinds of running around in there, but 45 minutes later I looked in and they were both fast asleep in their own beds. Grace was even under her blanket. I am not sure if she covered herself up, or if Charlotte tucked her little sister in.

Of course, other nights they need a little more 'help' getting settled down to sleep ;)

Skinned knee

Charlotte tripped in the parking lot this evening and skinned a knee and an elbow pretty badly. I saw it happen and I winced as I watched, as if in slow motion, her fall and then literally skid forward across the asphalt. She was a pretty good sport about it. She carefully washed the boo-boo on her elbow at the sink all by herself. She consented to get into the bath to wash her knees. We dressed her in shorts for pj's and when Derek tucked her in he told me that she carefully pulled the blanket up and stuck her knees out so that everything was under the covers except her knees.

I have been wanting to get some pictures of the girls sleeping in their new room since we moved in. Here is one try of Charlotte this afternoon. It doesn't help that the new house has seriously loud, creaky floors. I'm talking, like, haunted-house style creaking. You can't see it, but her body is actually off the bed and on the floor here. She uses the mattress like a big pillow :)

Old and new

Our first two images in the new house. Just some snapshots. This is the girls' new computer desk. It was called a "buddy" desk for preschoolers in the description online. They actually even kind of look like buddies here, don't they? Bun and her sidekick, Little Bun. Charlotte actually patted the seat next to her and invited Grace to come over and sit. A rare moment, believe me. Charlotte is over the moon about having her very own computer.





And here are the last two shots from the old house. These are actually a week or so old, but I have been behind in editing. Charlotte taking a bath in the old tub. I am just a little sad that they won't even remember living there.
