My little niece is pretty sassy :) And she coordinates her band-aids with her outfits!
This is a nice, polite, sure I'll smile for you, Liza pose.
This is more like the cute Louisa giggle.
My favorites.
She is posing with her new purple unicorn pllow pet that was a present from Grandma.
Getting ready to jump. There are more in the jumping series, but I ran out of editing time today.
Isn't my niece beautiful? Love her!

Washington DC
Hi! I know its been a long time since the last post. Thanks for still checking :)
Here are a few pictures from our trip to Washington DC at the beginning of September. All taken with my phone. In good light it actually takes fairly decent snaps.
The first stop was the National Zoo. Gracie has been looking forward to seeing the pandas since we told her about the trip. Pandas are her favorite animal. She loves them. She has been telling us lately that someday when she gets her own room it is going to have pandas painted on the walls and panda sheets.
My dining companion the first night in DC.
The first night we walked from our hotel after dinner to the Lincoln Memorial. It was a beautiful summer night.
Taken after sunset. There is ridiculous noise from the low, low light and being taken by, you know, an iPhone. I like the noise, though. It is a cool effect.
This one I am going to print and frame. I really love it.
We went to the Museum of Natural History, the Museum of American History, the Air and Space Museum (twice) and Charlotte and I went to the Museum of the American Indian. Charlotte liked the Air and Space Museum and especially Skylab and the astronaut stuff. She and I walked back for a second trip on our last day there. I have to say, Charlotte did an amazing job with all the walking we did over 5 days. DC is large scale. We walked for miles at a time and were out for long parts of the day and she skipped ahead of us like it was nothing. My feet hurt most nights!
On our last day of the trip we went to the Maryland Renessaince Festival in Annapolis. It was really cool. Charlotte got this crown painted on her face.

2 down, 1 to go
The obligatory back to school photo. They're standing for the picture nicely, but their eyes are sort of glazed over.

The hug pose always works for them. It's cute. They actually like to hug each other. They get each other going with the giggles. :)

Derek plays hide and go seek with them in the mornings while waiting for the school bus. What an awesome Dad! With a shutter speed of 1/200 I still got motion blur in Charlotte's foot. The kid's fast.

The first day seemed to go really well for both of them. They were very nonchalant about the day, which I guess is probably a good thing.
