but I wanted to write down this little Charlotte story.
Charlotte really likes to know what is coming up next, and every night we tell her what she will be doing the next day. She gets really excited usually. "Ooooo! My wake up a'morning, my go park!" And she remembers what you told her the next morning, too. It is especially helpful to prepare her for daycare days. "My wake up a'morning, my go Doodlebugs." Sometimes, it wishful thinking disguised as a harmless question. "My wake up a'morning, my go Grandma's house?"
A few weeks ago she asked me, "my wake up a'morning, my do what?" I thought that was pretty smart. She has since refined it to the (slightly) more grammatical "my wake up a'morning, what my do?" Slowly but surely navigating the complex maze of syntax known as the English language.
Last night as I was carrying her to her room for bedtime, she announced spontaneously, "my wake up a'morning, my see Daddy again!"
Derek, we're all just so glad to have you home.
