His old self again
Eli went to the doctor yesterday for his 8 week shots. I thought the doctor said something along the lines of "they really don't get reactions to the shots anymore." In retrospect, I think she really said something like they don't get the fevers as much anymore (although he did get a fever). Either way, around 8:00 last night he suddenly woke up and started this inconsolable crying that we have never seen from him before. The vaccine fact sheet listed fussiness as a side effect. This was red-faced, body-clenched, breathless screaming for about 2 hours. We gave him some Motrin and I finally put him in the sling and he passed out from exhaustion. We didn't know what to expect from him this morning but he woke up back to his easy-going, happy little self.

My new favorite model
My wonderful little niece Kat. She is truly the happiest, sweetest little baby. Eli and I got to spend most of this week visiting with Heidi, Dan and Kat. We had a great time. I have lots of pictures to look through and little time to edit them. I couldn't resist picking a few from here and there to post, though.

We had these little red outfits for Eli and Kat. I love hoods on babies for pictures. Isn't she adorable?

Eli wasn't so thrilled about the whole situation.

How he looks
I was complaining to my sister earlier in the week that I struggle to get a good image of Eli that looks just like him to me. Something about newborn expression and how I am having trouble capturing it.
These that we took today look very much like him, so I am really happy.
He's still a good sleeper for pictures, too. :)

Derek took this one
Derek came into my office yesterday and said Eli fell asleep on the couch and asked for a CF card for the camera to take a picture. He came back and handed me the card without a word. This is what I downloaded later after getting everybody to bed :)

The Cabbage Patch Doll was my cousin's when she was little and she kindly unpacked them and brought one each for Grace and Charlotte. They love them, especially the belly buttons.

I wanted to have some monumental, really great thing to put in the 200th post on this blog, but it got away from me. This is post #202. Oh well. As far as the really great thing goes, for me it doesn't get a whole lot better than this :)

An unexpected bonus - my mom came for dinner wearing a royal blue shirt. So I enrolled her into doing some quick pictures with all the kids. I haven't had a chance to edit them yet, but they're cute!
