Some pictures from Charlotte

Charlotte has a Fisher Price kids digital camera. We made a special trip to the toy store today to get new batteries for it. I would really like to get her a camera that takes nicer pictures, but I haven't found just the one that I am looking for.

Charlotte's idea was to take pictures of each other at the same time. Here's mine.

Here's one of hers.

Then we switched cameras.

Here are two that I like from the old house. The view from inside her crib.

Ya Ya

Grace is crazy about her Daddy. She pronounces "Dada" more like "Yaya". Grace never has been very particular about diction. She insists on having Derek do certain things for her, like cover her up with her blanket at night. If I try to change her diaper she tells me emphatically, "No change me. Yaya change me." No problem, kid. I pass that job right on over to Derek.

If loving this picture is wrong

I really don't want to be right.

Another nostalgic post

I have been planning this shot for awhile, waiting for the right day. The earlier shot was taken two years ago today. Two years that went by awfully fast! It's an unfortunately inauspicious anniversary for this little shot, but what can you do.

I am completely indebted to Charlotte for this shot that I wanted so much. I put the little chair in place and set up the lights and got my camera. I cajoled Grace into the little red skirt and white shirt. I asked her if she wanted to go and sit in the chair. Not really, no. I managed to get her playing with me enough that she would run over and stand in front of the chair and grin, but not actually sit. She was having fun, though, so we were still doing okay. Charlotte came by and asked what we were doing. I told Charlotte I wanted Grace to sit in the chair so I could take a picture. I asked Charlotte, did she want to sit in the chair for a picture?

Bam! Charlotte invented a game where she sat in the chair and pretended to sleep. Then Grace and I would call "wake up, Charlotte!" (and take a picture). And she would sit up and giggle and laugh. Grace predictably wanted a turn. We probably did this 20 times back and forth and they laughed and laughed. Actually, we all laughed and laughed. Yeah, Charlotte!

In the course of the game, Charlotte got into all kinds of different positions on the little chair. Grace carefully copied each one. This made me laugh most of all.

Totally Random

So I just spent (wasted?) a half an hour digging around in old picture folders that never had any of their images edited. Maybe I'm in a weird mood tonight, but these made me laugh out loud. Just a couple that I resized to post. I didn't even bother fixing color, etc, so look past the technical difficulties.

These are from a trip to Delaware Park almost exactly 2 years ago.

The captions for the little one really haven't changed much. Here's Gracie watching her big sister's every move.

Another of Grace, taken the day before the park shots.

And an even older random shot from the backyard at the old house. I don't know what it is about these that hit me tonight. Something like how they change so much, but yet always look just exactly like themselves, you know?

A new book

Grace's favorite teacher from day care gave her this cute 3D book, complete with the glasses. She loves it.

Remember this?

When you used to lie on the swing on your stomach and use your feet to twist the chains as many times as you could and then let go and spin around like a maniac? Charlotte loves it. I get the bed spins just watching.

Of course, the little one gets in on the action too.
